SAVIORS OF KAMIGAWA Release Date: 6/3/05 Set Size: 165 Cards (55 Rares, 55 Uncommons. 55 Commons) Expansion Symbol: Expansion Code: SOK Languages: Cliinese-S, English. French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish Set overview: While this set continues the focus on a Japanese-based Legendaiy world started in the first two sets of the Kamigawa block, the mechanics wildly deviate from the first two sets. Much of the gameplay is based around keeping cards in your hand, which actively goes against actually playing a game of Magic. Because of this, Saviors of Kamigawa was an unpopular set, and is a little rarer than most others in the years before or after printing. With the rise of the Commander format, the demand on Legendanr creatures helped cards in this set go to higher values than when the set was originally Standard- tournament legal. Key cards include Miren, the Moaning Well, and Pithing Needle. ONSLAUGHT BLOCK ONSLAUGHT Release Date: 10/7/02 Set Size: 350 Cards (110 Rares, 110 Uncommons, 110 Commons, 20 Basic Lands) Expansion Symbol: Expansion Code: ONS Languages: Chinese-S, Cliinese-T, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish Set overview: Fallen Empires is the first set to focus on creature tribes as a theme, but Onslaught Block is the first group of sets to do it under the new set philosophies. Beasts, Birds, Clerics, Dragons, Elves, Goblins, Mistform, Soldiers, Wizards, and Zombies are the focus here. This set also introduces Fetch Lands — lands that are able to search your deck for certain basic land types. Since the Revised Dual Lands count as those land types, the Fetch Lands are popular in virtually eveiy format of Magic. Onslaught features the Allied cycle of Fetch Lands — Bloodstained Mire, Flooded Strand., Polluted Delta, Windswept Heath, and Wooded Foothills. Key cards include Mana Echoes and Patriarch's Bidding.
