The 25 Best Commanders In MTG LOTR Tales of Middle-earth – 18. Galadriel of Lothlorien

Simic value Commanders are a dime a dozen now, but Galadriel of Lothlorien is the most interesting one out of the main LOTR set. Combining tempt synergies and scry value to generate a potentially impressive amount of ramp, Galadriel does a little bit of everything. That’s hard to argue with, and is only so low on the list because it’s… well, dull.

In addition to being kind of boring, the competition for this kind of Commander in Simic is, as I noted, extremely stiff. You want to ramp and draw cards? Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait is amazing. You like scry shenanigans? Skip the middle man and drop meat right on to the board with Kenesos, Priest of Thassa. Galadriel is more efficient overall, but less fun.
