The numbers don’t lie – according to EDHRec, Cultivate is the fourth-most played card in Commander, and Kodama’s Reach is, 99.9 percent of the time, functionally identical to it. Everyone loves a Divination, but what about a Divination that doesn’t just draw you two lands but also lets you play one? Cultivate, like Farseek, both ramps and fixes your mana, it helps you keep hitting land drops, it’s great in decks across the color spectrum, from mono-green to five-color, and generally it’s just a must-include in any green EDH deck that can reasonably cast it. Again, like most ramp spells, Cultivate isn’t all that flashy, but it will improve your deck and improve your games, as it does so much work for you: card advantage, mana ramp and mana fixing. All for just three mana!
