We tend to associate ramping your mana with green, but as is the case with a lot of other color-bound abilities, white gets access to it as long as it’s in the name of keeping things fair and balanced. If your opponent has more lands than you – even if they were just on the play and hit their third land drop before you – Knight of the White Orchid is a turbocharged Rampant Growth attached to a 2/2! That’s an incredible rate, but playing with this card quickly reveals it’s not all that it’s cracked up to be. For one, in a dedicated ramp deck, it’s not often that you have fewer lands than your opponent, so it’s not a great ramp card beyond the first few turns. Still, it’s a Knight that searches up extra lands, so it’s secured me as a fan for life.
