I understand that playing Temple of the False God feels “free”, and that you may as well chuck it in a deck with lots of top-end, but let me tell you this: this card is one of the most misleading, untrustworthy, manipulative cards you’ll ever come across. Its fail case – which is drawing it before you’ve already got four other lands – comes up far too often, in which case this is a blank piece of cardboard. Wastes is a better card than this – at least Wastes taps for mana if it’s in your opening hand! If you really need lands like this, stick to the good ones, like Ancient Tomb or Shrine of the Forsaken Gods. As you might find with an actual temple of a false god, this card is wanting you to believe something that just isn’t true.
